One of the oldest rules in American gangland was formulated by Murray "the Camel" Humphreys of the Capone mob in Chicago: "If you ever have to cock a gun in a man's face, kill him. If you walk away without killing him after doing that, he'll kill you the next day." The Israelis could have, and should have, finished the Iran-adjacent Hamas terrorist organization when they had the chance, but of course they did not, and this is the result. 

Now reality bites. Hamas -- the indirect recipient of part of the $6 billion in Iranian fund recently unfrozen by the ghastly Biden administration as part of a prisoner-swap deal -- remains as dedicated to the destruction of the Jewish state (about a fifth of whose citizens are Arabs) as ever and have a rocked an always-contentious nation (a sizable proportion of the population of which doesn't even believe it should exist and don't serve in the nation's armed forces) back on its heels with the latest coordinated attacks across the border. Israel must fight, of course, and thanks to its client-state relationship with the U.S. it will have the wherewithal to do it, at least for a while. Indeed, warships and planes are already on their way.

This however is no guarantee that the wider Arab world won't see Israel's weakness as an opportunity to finish off their bête noire while they have the chance. In that event, so much for the ballyhooed Abraham Accords, one of the few remaining achievements of the Trump administration that haven't already been overturned by Joe Biden. Surely, American support for Israel has never been more tepid; the Democrats loathe Israeli prime minister Benjamin Netanyahu (whose brother died during the 1976 raid at Entebbe), as does the Biden administration, despite itself being heavily Jewish. There have even been pro-Palestinian marches in Washington, D.C., celebrating the attacks.

The left in Israel has been gunning for Netanyahu for years via lawfare and its opposition to his proposal to reform Israel's supreme court. Perhaps if the country had spent more time and attention on the threats to its existence in its own back yard instead of arguing about petty politics its officials might not have been asleep at the switch Saturday, but here we are.

Indeed—here WE are, and here THEY are as well. Funny, innit, how ultimately The Enemy in both Amerika v2.0 and Israel alike wears the exact same Evil Left face. Are American Weapons From Afghanistan and Ukraine Being Used Against Israel?

A: Of COURSE they are. Whaddaya, fookin’ schtoopid or sump'in?

On Saturday, as the Hamas offensive began, videos began circulating of Palestinian Arabs celebrating the massacres of Israeli Jews. In one of them, a jihadi carries a girl who looks to be about seven or eight years old upon his shoulders; disconcertingly, she is carrying a pistol and a rifle. Glenn Beck noticed a striking detail about her rifle, and tweeted on Sunday, “When did Hamas begin to carry AMERICAN AR’s? Didn’t they have AK’s from Russia? Where did these weapons come from? Afghanistan? didn’t we leave a ton behind? Or were they shipped to Ukraine? maybe I am mistaken."

Maybe he is, but he is far from the only person to suggest that arms that the Biden regime sent to Ukraine have ended up in the hands of the Palestinian jihadis. In fact, Hamas itself posted a video on its Telegram channel thanking Ukraine for sending it arms. Twitter/X readers added a community note to one tweet of this video, saying, “There is no evidence to suggest Ukraine has been selling weapons to Hamas. Hamas get [sic] most of their weaponry from Iran & Syria.”

That may be so, but U.S. arms that Biden’s handlers sent to Ukraine could have made their way to Hamas without the Ukrainian government selling them. Back in late June, according to the Times of Israel, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu “ruled out supplying Ukraine with the Iron Dome missile defense system, reiterating Israel’s concern that the vital technology could fall into the hands of Iran.” Netanyahu said, “I think it’s important to understand that we’re concerned also with the possibility that systems that we would give to Ukraine would fall into Iranian hands and could be reverse engineered and we would find ourselves facing Israeli systems used against Israel.”

Say, isn’t that one of Alinski’s Rules For Radicals? I seem to remember seeing that one in there somewhere or other. Could be wrong about that, natch. Another one from Spencer, in which he also nails it to the wall, as per his usual habit.

Media analysts are describing the latest attacks as a retaliation for Israel’s supposed desecration of the al-Aqsa Mosque, or for “settlement” activity, and all the usual half-truths, distortions and outright lies that characterize establishment media coverage of Israel. Ultimately, however, this is happening not because of al-Aqsa, or because of any “occupation,” since the “occupation” is a propaganda fiction anyway. It’s happening because of the Islamic imperative to fight Jews.

A hadith says: “Abu Huraira reported Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) as saying: The last hour would not come unless the Muslims will fight against the Jews and the Muslims would kill them until the Jews would hide themselves behind a stone or a tree and a stone or a tree would say: Muslim, or the servant of Allah, there is a Jew behind me; come and kill him; but the tree Gharqad would not say, for it is the tree of the Jews.” (Sahih Muslim 6985) Read the beginning of the words attributed to Muhammad again: “The last hour would not come unless the Muslims will fight the Jews and the Muslims would kill them.”

So this is not a hadith about the “last day.” It is a hadith about the conditions under which the “last day” will come about, and how Muslims can bring about the “last day”: by killing Jews. The true believers of Hamas are busy doing it now.

In light of that, the Islamic State (ISIS) explains that Muslims’ struggle against Israel is eschatological, not political, although it acknowledges that analysts have generally missed this: “Most people have disregarded the Quranic characterization of the Jews and its aim. They have instead concerned themselves with a historical narrative of events, thereby deviating from the roots of the conflict.” These mistaken analysts, says ISIS, think that the Israeli-Palestinian conflict arose over “lands and possessions.” It asks: “Is there any pretext left on which someone can claim that the war with the Jews is not religious?”

Actually, Pisslam being less of a true religion and more of a totalitariani-ideological wolf in religious sheep’s clothing, an argument could easily be made that it’s not so much a religious war per se. But that’s just splitting semantic hairs, really. There’s also the aspect of those eternal demands that the Israeli response should be—nay, MUST be—“proportional,” a wholly asinine idea for anyone fighting a truly, literally existential war. I’ll just step back and let Steyn shovel up that stinking, steaming pile.

Israel, as always, is being urged to confine itself to a "proportionate" response. Headline from my former newspaper The Irish Times:

Mr Martin is the former Taoiseach and current Tánaiste (deputy Taoiseach) and Foreign Minister. I wonder what he thinks is the "proportionate" response to that scene? The "proportionate response" to an army that, as its principal tactic, seizes your womenfolk and children, and rapes, tortures and kills them. Would raping, torturing and killing their womenfolk be “proportionate”?

What is notable, I think, is the jubilant reaction of the crowd. Note the boy who spits on the woman's corpse. The idea that what is happening is a 'terrorist attack' by 'Hamas' is a fiction. Hamas is a political entity that rules Gaza with the support of the overwhelming majority of the Palestinians who live there.
